Ghostwriting

Ghostwriting is a process by which interesting people with something to say get help putting it in writing. Many people with worthwhile ideas to share and stories to tell simply don't have the time to take on the lengthy process of producing a book on their own.

Many factors contribute to creating a book. First, of course, is your idea--whether it's a business concept, a wisdom based on your experiences in a specialized field, or a story from your own life.

Then, there's the material itself--the stuff that brings your idea to life. This would include any notes, workshop handouts, interview transcripts, other articles you've written, or outlines and chapter drafts you've already begun to produce. Maybe it's all in your head and you just need to sit down with someone and talk about it.

Then, there's your objective--to capture your expertise, to get something on the record, to have something to hand your clients, or to share with your friends and family.

Finally, there's your commitment to getting it done, along with your expectations for when you want it completed.

However far along in the process you may be, even if you've done nothing at all, I can help you get going and get it finished, while you keep doing all the other things you need to do.

A ghostwriting project, whether it's a book, an article or a speech, or anything else, is, by definition, a true collaboration. My job is to respect you and your idea, to listen to you, hear what you're trying to do, hear what your voice sounds like and make sure that's how the finished product sounds. I coach on matters of concept, structure, clarity, style and support materials. I can also give you advice about options for publishing. But it's your project and you maintain complete control.
